All about semaglutide & TIRZEPATIDE.
GLP-1s are not a new medication. They have traditionally been used to treat Diabetes patients because it helps your body balance and release more insulin. The weight loss side effect of this medication has been studied to be quite significant, and the FDA has approved this medication for the purpose of weight loss. Clinical trials have concluded that patients can lose 15% of their body weight with Semaglutide. Similarly, clinical trials have concluded that patients can lose 20% of their body weight with Tirzepatide. The way this works is by delaying gastric emptying, keeping you feeling fuller longer. This also sends a signal to your brain that you aren’t as hungry, creating a very strong appetite-suppressing effect. Our patients have reported significant weight loss, appetite suppression, the “food noise” in their heads becoming silent, and even a reduction in addictive behaviors like nail biting, online shopping, and alcoholism.
side effects.
As with any medication, there is always a risk of side effects. Your provider can give you tips to reduce these side effects and, in some cases, prescribe medications for certain side effects. Here is a list of the most commonly reported side effects: Headache, Nausea, Vomiting, Gas, Abdominal pain, Heartburn, Fatigue, Bloating, Belching, & Dizziness.
The process
〰️
The process 〰️
1. Appointment
We will take your medical history to ensure you’re a good candidate for the treatment. Next, during your consultation, we will discuss your goals and budget, and finalize your weight loss plan. We will discuss the potential benefits and side effects involved in the weight loss treatment, and I will make sure all questions are answered before prescribing the medication. I will also provide a weight loss meal plan, workout program, and overall Semaglutide guide as an added bonus.
2. Medication
Once your medications are prescribed and have arrived, I will teach you how to inject the medication or do it for you if you prefer. The injections are given with a very small gauge needle and will feel like a small pinch, or sometimes patients don’t feel it at all. You will repeat these injections once every week until the completion of your weight loss program.
3. follow up
You will be required to come in for an appointment once a month in order to receive refills on your medication. We will discuss your progress, side effects, and find ways to mitigate those side effects if needed.
